This year's EGA Annual Dinner in the National Concert
Hall will be the largest celebration yet. We are very grateful to our many
Corporate Members for sponsoring tables on the basis of 10% discount.
Over the past two years Arup, Coillte, CRH, Energia, Engineers
Ireland, ESB, Nicholas O'Dwyer, RPS and Siemens took tables to see the 2015
Distinguished Graduate Award conferred on UCD Vice President Professor Orla
Feely and a Lifetime Achievement Award given to Professor Emeritus John Kelly
who founded UCD EGA in the mid 1980s.

This year will be an equalling exciting occasion with the
2016 Distinguished Graduate Award going to a 1990s female engineering graduate
at the top of her profession and a unique President's Award going to an engineering graduate who reached the top of his profession at the age of 37 and
50 years later remains very active and well known nationally and
internationally. He was awarded two honorary doctorates and is currently
Chairman of a number of national institutions. That's all I'm telling you for
now.

The rest will be revealed in the John Field Room in NCH
on the evening of June 13th next. Corporate and individual tickets are
available from clare.ryan@ucd.ie.
Gary O'Callaghan and Greg Duggan from Siemens |
Next week is also exciting for another reason - the first UCD Summer Festival is on
Saturday June 18th with each college having
their own marquee for lectures, panel discussions, food, wine and music.
Included in the College of Engineering and Architecture programme is a Panel
Discussion on Water in Ireland with Professor Micheal Bruen UCD, Michael
Phillips former Dublin City Engineer and Damien Owens Registrar Engineers
Ireland chaired by PJ Rudden EGA President. All are welcome for a family
occasion.
